It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of classmate, Christopher Kamahalo Keli'i a'a who died on September 22nd.
Chris was a recent winner with fellow Kamehameha Alumni Kenneth Makuakane and other Pandanus Club members of the 2012 Na Hoku Hanohano Anthology Album of the Year. Chris started out musically playing the clarinet in the fourth grade and continued playing through his school years, eventually as a member of Kamehameha's Wind Ensemble. In the Pandanus Club, he played bass and steel guitar as well as contributing his sweet tenor voice to their numerous, award winning recordings.

Christopher Kamahalo Keliiaa, 56, of Aiea, a Department of Transportation employee and musician with The Pandanus Club, died in Kaiser Medical Center. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son Donovan, daughter Dawn Mahealani, parents Sam and Betty, and sisters Gloria Wong and Kanoe Bridges. Visitation: 8 a.m. Saturday at Bishop Memorial Chapel, Kamehameha Schools. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Casual attire. Lei welcome.
